Busy Bees

We've all been under the cosh at work and I’ve been putting in mammoth days so as to Paperwork Mountain from toppling, so my scantily clad blog was left barren for several weeks.

Anyway, today a few of us went downtown to do a little shopping at one of the fake markets and to get some more tailored clothes. It was a good feeling to get out of Songjiang, not that I dislike the place but life can get a little repetitive here so it’s good to break the cycle once in a while.

This week’s purchases included a new bag, a bike light and some tasteful souvenirs (which will serve as Christmas presents to send back home). Undoubtedly I paid too much for some of the items, but, getting the vendors to sell them at a reasonable price can be a ‘war of attrition’, guess the Chinese are good at that sort of thing.

  1. Hope you are managing to get through the paperwork. Lovely photos - did you take them? Sounds as though you had a lovely day - funnily enough the place doesn't look so very different from how I remember Hong Kong 50 years ago! xx
